Why research Body Image vs Health and Well-being

At first I wanted to research body image vs well-being because I wanted to see the affect that the media can cause a person with their ideal image. So in the beginning I was looking at mostly at media and models, etc. These are the things that most people will think of right away. But then I started thinking of eating disorders and how it affects people as well as when trying to accomplish this perfect image. Thinking outside of fame and tabloids, I thought of the everyday girl. Two of my closest friends have eating disorders. I'm not doing this as a way to find help for them because they have help and are doing well but as a way to understand why they think the way they do and what outside factors play a role in their life. Some look at the fame and model, things like that. Some look at the family structure. I just want to get some questions and try to answer some questions with the research i conduct.

English 102 Research paper.

For my research paper, I am doing the body image vs. health and well-being. I feel that in todays society, looks are everything. So much is based on appearance that I want to see what psychological factors play into role with having said to be one way and you don't fit the criteria. I feel that my audience will me mostly on the feminine side, but I'm sure almost everyone can relate with the feeling of not fitting in into society's picture perfect. I think that it is important to see what body image should be according to people of all ages. It changes throughout time and to see those changes with their effects on each individual. I hope to accomplish on finding something very positive through this research and maybe relate to people more who have issues about body image. Some people don't realize that even the most thin and pretty people have distorted body images. Can being our self not be enough? Can someone who has had trouble with body image in the past ever find true happiness within themselves? These are the things I hope to answer or at least lead to another question that can help me better understand.
